The owner of another site who sells the same graphics as me, has complained to the graphics designer about the Trolley Dash, saying that HER customers are complaining because they have spent money on her graphics when they could have got them for £5 in our Dash...she says that her concern is not competition, but that I am running a graphics club, which is against the Designer's terms and conditions.

I do not run graphics clubs and never have in the 4 years I've been online ...but is this what you guys see the VIP Membership as being??? Is it what you see the Trolley Dash as being?

I may have to stop the Trolley Dashes.

My understanding of a "club" is that one pays so much per week or month until the obligation is fulfilled and then one can shop. In no way is the Trolley Dash a "club"; it is a super, super sale. If the other seller of these graphics is upset, perhaps she/he should have some sort of a sale program at their site. I really hope that you will not have to discontinue the Dashes.
You have a website selling products where you get the opportunity to pay upfront for products, wholesale if you like.....
Club membership you are more likely to get things upfront for free and then have to buy something monthly, or as Linea stated, if there were terms stating that you had to sell these products for not lower than a certain price then there may be issues, but you are still selling them individually, isn't it up to you how much profit you make per item by offering the trolley dash?

Could you source different products?

I thought the dash was £20, just saw it is now £5, that is very cheap, and people moaned at that?
I think a big part of this problem is not understanding how my sites are structured and the business models I use, and the introduction of the new Commercial "Club" for those wanting to make money online from crafts (with access to graphics IF they want them).

If people take snippets of emails/conversations etc. out of context and getting 2+2=5...but that's why I wondered what you guys thought, because I *know* what I intend but I'm too close to the action to see the woods for the trees...I think it's absolutely not a graphics club but maybe that's how it comes across. Although, anyone who has been a VIP for a while, or anyone who really engages in the site and doesn't just come for the freebies and run, will hopefully know where I'm coming from.

Oh, and the Dash is £5 when you're invited ... the £20 was a 'put me on' for Commercial Club members to be able to get ready for Christmas while I work on their new site but I posted about it to my Dash Lovers as 'effectively' a 12 month dash.
Update - the good news is Trolley Dashes CAN still go ahead but under slightly different conditions, e.g. I need to change the way you checkout and some of the products cannot be included.

Bear with me...

Hi. Im sorry to hear your in trouble with the trolly dash I loved it. i have been hooked on my computor ever since. any way i digress..... is your trolly dash not just what the graphics sellers are doing with the " buy my store" sale, they charge you a price up front and then you get to choose what ever you want from there store????? sounds more like a case of sour grapes to me.!!!!!
******* keep your chin up. dont let them get you down. long live the Trolly Dash************** or maybe you should give it the "Buy My Store" title ha!
The other site owner needs to get a life and realise all shop/site owners vary in its prices, it's called competition!!! It stops people being ripped off through rip off greedy merchants! I have paid full wack for many of my graphics and still see them elsewhere at a much lower price or, become a member and get freebies and/or special offers which, is exactly the same as supermarkets price wars! Whoever she/he is needs to look at ways of keeping her customers happy and, STOP being so bloody greedy! And... why don't her moaning customers come and join us on here instead of whining to her? Freedom of choice? THIS IS NOT A CLUB, but a friendly non rip off craft site we all love and a woman who works danmed hard to keep it thriving! whichever way you look at it, the graphics are paid for by you to sell to us and it's up to us whether we want to buy or not! Keep it going Adele you do a wonderful job in these hard times!
Jae x
Awwww thanks Jae! ...'these hard times' are exactly what inspired the Trolley Dash in the first place, I wanted to spread a bit of good feeling instead of all the bad doom and gloom that's around.

Anyway, the graphics designer and myself came to an agreement and although it's not what I wanted to do (i.e. give people free run of the store) it's not too bad. Once I get more of my own products up there it can go back to what I intended.
