How about winding ribbon around them....or I would use felt, using the hanger to draw around to create a template.
Would anyone know where I could get a pattern or have any ideas how I can cover wooden coat hangers for a Christmas sale. My Gran is 95 and having a sale for an orphanage this Thursday and I am running out of ideas!!!
